SFYTT, OCCC, Eleven Pipers Piping

Oh. My. Word. I hate to boast...but I LOVE THIS CARD!!! I never would have created it if it weren't for Jen DelMuro's sketch at "I {Heart} to Stamp" http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/12/05/bella-birthday-blog-hop-first-saturday-of-the-month/ , and the Our Creative Corner blog for the idea of a card based on the song "Twelve Days of Christmas" http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/12/occ-challenge-12-days-of-christmas.html . So thanks y'all! You ROCK!

So...my card is "Eleven Pipers Piping"...count 'em....there's eleven there!!! LOVE IT!

Ingredients:
SU! Basic Grey CS and Classic Ink, Stamp from unknown source, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Color Box Silver Ink, Stampendous Silver Tinsel EP, Embossing Heat Tool, Silver Gel Pen, Gems and 2 Ribbons from Michaels.

OCCC, SASSC43

He-ey! Another item I can share! Here's my entry for the OCC challenge. GREAT layout...I can see myself using this for many other occasions....birthdays, weddings, baby showers etc! Check out the OCC blog for the other sweet sweet entries, and the real sketch! http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/12/occ-sketch-challenge-sassc43.html

I made 5 of these babies...they match my wrapping (and gift tags I talked about earlier, and will show a bit later) and look fantastic as a whole package! I made them in the match book style, and when opened, the SU! Slot Punch was used at the left and right edges to hold a gift card inside. Like I said, I can see myself making these for ALL occasions!

Ingredients: (All SU! unless otherwise indicated)
Slot Punch, Circle of Friendship Stamp Set, Delightful Decorations Stamp Set, Polka Dot Stamp, Real Red CS, Whisper White CS, Staples from Dollarama, Jewels from Michaels, 1" and 1 1/2" circle punches from Marvy, Craft Smart White Pigment Ink, Ribbon from Michaels.

SPCC # 27

Hi Girlies! All I have to say is "DANG! That's one hot color combo!" Yay Samantha for picking it! I'm not typically a "blue" girl, but give me ANYTHING with a brown tone, and I can totally make it work. I luuuuurve browns!

A really good friend of mine requested a card for her daughter's birthday. Her daughter was born on December 26, so I can only imagine that over the years she received a TON of birthday presents wrapped in Christmas paper, or the proverbial "Here's 2 gifts in one" statement (sooooo sorry all you December babes, my birthday is June 9....almost exactly 6 months from Christmas. YAY mom and dad! ;o). So, what better way to celebrate her special day, than without any Christmas colors, and with a cupcake (vs. Christmas) theme!

Soooo....Happy Birthday Shannon!

Ingredients: (all SU! unless otherwise indicated)
Sweet Little Sentiments Stamp Set, Paper Salon's "Date Builder" Stamp Set, Button from Forever in Time, Ribbon from Michaels, Opal Shimmer from unknown source, Glue from Dollarama, Thread from unknown source, Kraft CS, Brocade Blue CS and Classic Ink, Bashful Blue CS.

Mojo Monday

Hi Friends! I've been busy lately making the teachers and daycare providers presents (which I won't post, only because they aren't originals...I bought Kristina Werners Virtual Card Club for September, and have been mass producing these goodies. They look fantastic and are fairly simple. If you're in need of a gift, copy and paste this link into your browser to explore http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/?p=2128 ), and gift tags for my own gift giving (which I don't think I'll post as they are soooo simple, but so cute I may change my mind!)that I haven't created much to share! Please excuse my absence, but be assured it hasn't been an idle one! :o)

Ok, so onto what I AM posting! Hee! Here's my loose interpretation of the Mojo Monday sketch ( http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2009/11/mojo-monday-115.html ). A gorgeous sketch, which lent itself perfectly to this card! My BFF is turning 40 in 2 weeks, had planned her own party, only to be surprised by it really occurring 1 week early. She was truly floored, and it was so fun to share in that! Happy Birthday Michelle!!!

Ingredients: (all SU! unless otherwise noted)
Basic Black CS, Rich Razzleberry CS, Bermuda Bay CS, Pumpkin Pie CS, Kiwi Kiss CS, Silver CS from the Japanese Paper Factory, Black Staz-on Ink, Big Birthday Candle Stamp Set, Marvy 1" and 1 1/4" punches, SU! slot punch, FaLaLa Slice cartridge.

SPCC 25, card 2

The color combo Samantha picked over at SPCC was begging to be made into more Christmas cards, so here goes take 2 on this weeks color challenge. The gems are totally Certainly Celery...truest me on this one...and THANKS Dollarama!!!

Come on over to the SPCC site ladies, to enter your own creation, or just to peek at the other entries! So much creativity over there, just begging to be shared!

SFYTT

Hi all! So, instead of packing like I should have been doing last night, I decided to create a card for the fabby Jen delMuro's "I {heart} to Stamp" sketch challenge. (link here for the sketch and to check out all the other gorgeous entries http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/11/14/your-next-stamp-sketch-for-you-to-try/ )I must admit, sitting and creating probably brought my stress level down 10 notches, so in retrospect, it was the best thing I could have done! LOL! And on to the whole packing, moving, stress level thing...it will likely be pretty quiet over here for the next few days while we get moved out and settled into our month long stop over spot, prior to moving into our new home! Bear with me, and I promise I will be back! (Also, it seems I can't link directly to my blog right now...too little patience and too much stuff to do to fuss with it. If you can't directly click my links, please copy and paste into your address bar, I believe you'll love all the sites I'm "trying" to link to! This coming week I'll figure out the glitch and fix it all)

Ok...onto the card....

Ingredients: (All SU! unless otherwise mentioned)
Very Vanilla CS, Baja Breeze CS and Classic Ink, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, Stamp a ma jig, Sanding Block, Lots of Bots Stamp Set, Totally Tool Stamp Set, "Moravia" DSP by S.E.I., 1 1/4" circle punch by Marvy.

Happy (belated) Halloween!

So. I've done something I thought I'd never do...although I appreciate seeing photos of other bloggers children, I've never posted my own. While I've consciously made this decision for many reasons (privacy issues, safety issues, reinforcing to the children what is and isn't appropriate for them to post etc.)I've decided to bend my rule today. After all...I don't think this is a recognizable child without the makeup!!!

L'il C decided she wanted to be the alien from the SU! Greetings Earthling stamp set. She picked the colors, and off we went to being creative. We made the simple gift tag last night to illustrate the original intention, and I must say we were super impressed! Hope you all enjoy it!

Ingredients: (all SU!)
Green Galore CS, Basic Black Classic Ink, Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write, Rich Razzleberry 5/8" polka dot grosgrain ribbon.

Helloooooo???

Hi there blog buddies!

I am here! And well! And, well....MOVING! I know, poor excuse for the lack of posts, but I sold my house really quickly, and had no where to move to! Talk about a stressful 2 weeks of house hunting! Well, as all things do, this worked out the way it was supposed to, and I did purchase a new home with absolutely all of my "requirements" in it! The catch....we couldn't make the closing dates match, so we are moving in with my parents for a month...it'll be tight (3 adults, 2 kidlets, 3 dogs, in a beautiful but "retirement sized" condo!) but definitely do-able. And really, I think once the packing, sorting, storing, moving, donating etc etc etc ends, and we end up there for the month, I will be back to posting frequently! Ahhhh....looking forward to it! ;o)

As it is...I was thrilled to get a request for a 50th Birthday card, so I was "forced" to be creative for an evening. Boy did that feel great! Without further chattering...here are the deets:

Ingredients:
SU! basic Black CS, SU! DSP Tea Party, SU! Pretty in Pink Classic Ink, Silver paper and "woven" type silver paper (I'm sure there is a better name for it than that!) from the The Japanese Paper Factory, Slice cartridges FaLaLa and Spring, Paper Place "Father's Day" stamp set, Color Box silver ink, the "0" charm is from a necklace by Avon...the card recipient can cut it off (I sewed it on with black thread so you can't see it) and voila! A beautiful pendant to wear!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!! (Plus MOJO106, and SPCC#17)

Ok, firstly, I have to wish my dad a Happy Birthday, and secondly, I have to say "Oh my word! Isn't this card cute?!?" (Now dad, if you check this out before you see us tonight, please act surprised ;o) I must tell you, my dad LOVES DQ, and tends to "use" my kids to get there more frequently than any other adult would. LOL! So Big C, L'il C and I, all decided the best gift for my dad would be his very own DQ gift card. No need to rationalize now, right? He can go when ever he wants! (LOL! I have used this theory many times when I have a crafting gift card, or coupon, or heck...just a good old sale is an excellent excuse! I hear lots of heads nodding out there in agreement.....)
***
Anywho...The sketch comes from the Mojo Monday site (link here for the original sketch, the design team products, and the other entries http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2009/09/mojo-monday-week-106.html ). I took the liberty of flipping the sketch 90 degrees to fit my Lots of Bots stamp. And the colors (should be Real Red, So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Old Olive...I was really low on card stock, so had to substitute some colors, see the ingredients list below for the true info) comes from Samantha's SPCC Color Challenge (link here for the swatch, and other gorgeous creations http://spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/2009/09/spcc-17.html ).
***
Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):
Real Red Classic Ink, Ridinghood Red CS, So Saffron 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Barely Banana CS, Bashful Blue Classic Ink, and substituted the CS for a canvas texture CS that I had in my scraps pile, source unknown, Old Olive CS and Classic Ink, Lots of Bots Stamp Set, 1" Square Punch by Marvy, Button from Forever in Time.

OCCC, SFYTT

Hello again...it's me and my Christmas spirit once again! ;o) I have a few obsessions right now...one being my Fa La La Slice cartridge, the other being Christmas! I haven't broken out the Christmas tunes yet...I may have to put them on my i pod so I am the only one being inflicted by them this early, but boy, I tell you, I am looking forward to hearing them! Hee!
***
Ok, the colors for this card came from the Our Creative Corner Site. Click here for the swatch and to see all the other beauties http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/09/occ-challenge-yummy-color-combo.html . The layout is a very loose interpretation of Jen delMuro's sketch over here http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/09/19/sketch-for-you-to-try-29/ . I've previously posted my original entry for that sketch, but the sketch was so inspiring, my brain started going other directions with it, and voila! The above card was developed!

SFYTT, SPCC #16

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! I have been busily prepping my teachers, daycare, neighbor gifts the last few weeks, and I see my Christmas Spirit has carried over to my cards. You'll have to bear with me for the next little bit...the challenges are a great way to get my own Holiday Cards made without a lot of fuss! ;o)
***
This card was made for two challenges, the sketch came from Jen delMuro's "I {Heart} to Stamp" Site (click here for the sketch and all the other fabby entries http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/09/19/sketch-for-you-to-try-29/ ), and the colors come from Samantha's SPCC Site (click here for the color swatch and to see the other beautacious entries http://spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/2009/09/spcc16.html ). I love how these colors are totally nontraditional Christmas colors, yet, the cool, crisp way they come together really look great in a card with snowflakes! Also, stay tuned for another variation of the sketch...I really altered it for an upcoming post (so much so that I'm not sure if I'll submit it to Jen, but it's still needing a link to the original sketch), as the original sketch totally inspired me!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #13, OCCC

Happy Sunday All! My generous SU! Sales Rep (http://www.scrappinwithdonna.typepad.com/) tucked a surprise of some new DSP's in my order from last month, and I was very excited to use them! And Makeesha's sketch (http://www.makeeshabyl.com.au/index.php/2009/09/18/inkspirations-sketch-challenge-13/) (which I flipped sideways!) lent itself to perfectly showcasing the papers!

Oh. My. Word.

Has anyone seen this yet??? I have to start by saying this is NOT my creation, this was created by the super talented Andrea Walford, who is selling the "Christmas Jingle Tri-Shutter Album" Kit from her on-line store. Click here for waaaaaaay better photos and a video that gives this creation the up close details it deserves http://andreawalford.com/?p=3032
***
Now, back to OH. MY. WORD. The kit arrived to me in the mail last week, and I finally had a chance to sit down and play with it this morning. I decorated mine exactly like Andrea's, but there is so much product left over you certainly could embellish another one (or two!), or with different making memories kits, this could be adapted to anything...weddings, baby albums, birthdays etc. etc. etc. The possibilities are endless!
***
I haven't ordered many classes or kits on line, and this was the first time I have ordered from Andrea. Right from the initial contact the process was easy peasy, and when the kit arrived, I have to say I was incredibly impressed with the professional way it was packaged, the written instructions are exact, and the DVD was a pleasure to watch. If any of you are on the look out for something like this, I definitely give the whole shebang a two thumbs up!
***
Now stop listening (reading ;o) to me ramble...and go check out Andrea's site for yourselves!
Hugs,
Robbyn

AMYRS74

And yet another masculine Birthday card! In my previous post I was saying that apparently I had used the stash I had going. I needed to find some for a friend last night, and lo and behold...I had lots of feminine ones, and children's cards, but none specifically for the men out there! So, here goes another one with the gorgeous "To the Nines" DSP.

The sketch comes from Amy Rysavy's Prairie Paper and Ink site (click here for the sketch and other beautacious entries http://prairiepaperandink.typepad.com/amyr/2009/09/friday-sketch-sept-409.html ). While you are there, be sure to peek around her site a bit, she's just released some new super fun stamps that I have my eye on!!!

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):
Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, 5/8" ribbon and Stampin' Write, Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write, Melon Mambo Stampin' Write, Kraft CS, Big Birthday Candle stamp set, To the Nines DSP, Invitation Builder stamp set from Paper Salon, adhesive from Dollarama.

SFYTT

A friend needed a masculine birthday card yesterday, so I pulled out my stash, and guess what? Lots of Birthday cards, all of them either more feminine, or for children. So out popped the "To the Nines" DSP and some masculine cards were made! I love this paper, but for some reason don't use it often.

Anywhoooo...the layout came from the talented Jen delMuro's sketch, over at "I {heart} to Stamp". Click on over here for all the deets and other gorgeous entries: http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/09/05/birthday-bash-sketch-and-new-designer-of-the-month/

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):
Always Artichoke CS, To the Nines DSP, Sahara Sand Classic Ink, Kraft CS, Eat Cake stamp set, Scallop Punch, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, beads unknown source, pop dots, glue and adhesive Dollarama.

Inkspirations Color Challenge #12, OCCC - Stars and Stripes Forever

Hi there! This cute little card (approx 4x4") was made for Keesh's Inkspiration Color Challenge #12 ( http://www.makeeshabyl.com.au/index.php/2009/09/04/inkspirations-colour-challenge-12/ ), and the OCCC challenge "Stars and Stripes Forever" ( http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/09/occ-challenge-stars-stripes-forever.html ). I'm loving the colors...initially I was thinking something bright, happy and floral, and somehow "bright, happy and floral" morphed into a Birthday card! LOL! Funny how that happens sometimes! I think I set my heart on the Big Birthday Candle for the stripes in my Stars and Stripes entry, and the colors just went too well to pass up! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the card as much as I do!
Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):
Real Red CS, Classic Ink, Craft Ink, So Saffron CS and Classic Ink, Regal Rose CS and Classic Ink, Whisper White CS, Glassy Glaze, Marvy heat tool (I used a gold brad from Dollarama, dipped it in Real Red Craft Ink, and Glassy Glaze then heat set it to get the matching color brad), Big Birthday Candle Stamp Set, Pop Dots and Adhesive from Dollarama.

I'm hoping no one minds my creative licence. :o)

Happy 1st day of School!

I think I can hear a lot of parents whooping for joy! ;o) It's the 1st day of school for those in my neck of the woods, and I am sure there is a lot of mixed emotions out there! Though I could have my kids home with me all day, every day, I am looking forward to a bit of routine coming back to my life. Anyway...this is the card I made my 2, and all my nieces and nephews to welcome them back to the school year. Click on the photo to get a closer look, the stamp I used is from Michaels, and says "Back to School" all around the apple. And, of course, the inspiration for the whole card is that darling "apple" ribbon.

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise mentioned):

Whisper White CS, Green Galore CS and Classic Ink, Real Red CS and Classic Ink, Scallop Punch, Ribbon and stamp set from Michaels, Creative Memories corner rounder, 1" and 1 1/2" circle punch from Marvy, Buttons from Forever in Time, Twine from unknown source.

Morning all!

Here is my entry for the OCC Sketch Challenge (link here for the deets and other entries http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/08/occ-challenge-sketch-challenge.html ) It is loosely based on a sample from the SU! catalogue pg 29. I loved how clean and simple that card was, so decided to adapt to the OCC (flipped on my behalf!) layout.

Ingredients: (all from SU! unless otherwise noted)

Kraft CS, Soft Suede CS and Stampin' Write, Polka Dot Background Stamp, Creative Memories Corner Rounder, 1 1/2" Marvy Circle Punch

SPCC #12

Good Morning Ladies!

I am back from holidays, and my mini posting break, and ready to hit the crafting road running! Although life is never NOT hectic, I think this week will settle us into the "regular hectic" lifestyle we can cope with. So...keep peeking back for lots of posts with week. I have a list of fantastic challenges I want to get to this week. So without further babbling....

This card was made for the SPCC challenge (click here to link to the swatch and the other fantastic entries http://spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/2009/08/spcc12.html ) The entries are due today, so I am really cutting it close, but y'all, if you haven't checked out this site, I really encourage you to! It's a "fairly" new site (this is challenge 12, so 3 months old now I suppose....Happy Anniversary Samantha! ;o) and Samantha, all the SP Diva's, and all the other participants are so sweet and supportive that it one challenge that totally makes it worthwhile. Go on gals...check it out!

Before I write all the necessities out, I should say, I made a card very similar, not too long ago ( http://robbynw.blogspot.com/2009/08/ebkcc1.html ) but had so many requests from friends for similar cards that I couldn't help but use this great color combo to do another! The template comes from Andrea's Sunny Stampin' Inc. (click here to get your own template http://andreawalford.com/?p=2231 ) and is really easy to use. Enjoy!

Ingredients: (all SU! unless otherwise noted)
Only Orange CS and Classic Ink, Melon Mambo CS and Stampin' Write, Bermuda Bay 5/8" Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon and Stampin' Write, Bird on a Branch Stamp Set, Prima Flowers "Trini Bright", Pearls from Forever in Time.

SFYTT, SPCC #11

Thanks for bearing with me girls, I am back to update this post with all the "must have info"! Life has been a whirlwind around here lately, so excuse the lack of posts please! I need to "get through" this weekend, then I am off for a week. A week of beach. A week of reading. A week of bonfires. A week of pure, unadulterated bliss. Then, I will be back in full force with the posts, I promise!

Big C and Little C have been off to skateboarding camp this week. They did a week in July, and now a week in August, and they LOVE it. I bought these stamp sets with the camp in mind, and have finally (last night), combined Samantha's SPCC color challenge and Jen delMuro's sketch from the I {heart} to Stamp site. Links listed below.

EBKCC1

There's a new challenge in (my) town! Well, maybe not really "my" town....maybe the city 30 minutes away, but none the less, here it is! Julie has designed the Easy Breezy Kewl Color Challenges for us to play with! (click here for the link http://kewlstamps-n-morechallenges.blogspot.com/2009/08/hawaiian-breeze.html ) I loved the colors this week, but unfortunately I was a day late to enter her challenge. Anyway, I'll be back to check it out, and hopefully can hit the deadline! Life seems to be getting in my creative way this past week.

Anywho...I've been told I'll have a new niece by Sunday, if not earlier. Her mom is an expert gardener, and I knew she needed something beyond "typical baby", so here's the card. I hope it's one they'll treasure! The template for the pot came from Andrea Walford's site "Sunny Stampin Inc.", click here to get your own template http://andreawalford.com/?p=2231

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):
Chocolate Chip CS and Classic Ink, Real Red Classic Ink, Very Vanilla CS, Sweet Little Sentiments Stamp Set, Flowers by Prima in colors that I tried to replicate Summer Sun, Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise, Buttons and Pearls from Forever in Time, Twine from unknown source.

SPCC #10, OCCC

Hi Girls!

Here's another card for two challenges, Samantha's SPCC #10 (colors Pumpkin Pie, Pale Plum and Crushed Curry) link here for the deets and other gorgeous creations http://spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/2009/08/spcc-10.html , and the Our Creative Corner Challenge. (click here for all the other fantastic interpretations http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/08/occ-challenge-inspiration-challenge.html )This one was a bit trickier for me, as it was soooooo open ended. The theme was the following sentence "In rural communities, it’s almost time for harvest." After some thought, I could see an autumn sunset, and the rest of the card went from there. And lucky me, Samantha's fabby colors were the perfect ones for this!

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):

Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink, Pale Plum Classic Ink and CS, Crushed Curry Classic Ink, CS and 5/8" polka dot ribbon, Aqua Painter, Versa Mark ink, Detail Black EP, Heat Tool, Twine from unknown source, water spritzer, glue dots and pop dots from Dollarama.
