Our Creative Corner - Color Challenge

Hey Peeps! (Ha! I totally didn't mean to make a pun when I first wrote that!) This card was made for the OCC Color Challenge which was to use green, red, white and black. I attempted to make a CAS (clean and simple) card, but I can't seem to do it! I'm sure we all know of those designers out there who can make fantastic CAS cards, but every time I attempt it, I keep adding and adding until its no where near the realm of CAS! This is pretty simple for me, and I must say I do love it, but I still cut out and adhered the birdies in front of the cage (they looked a little like jail birds otherwise!) and added that cute new little ribbon. Hope you all enjoy!

Ingredients: (All SU!)
Whisper White CS, Basic Black Classic Ink, Wild Wasabi Classic Ink, Rose Red Classic Ink, 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, Aviary Stamp Set

Hello, friends!

Hi all! Sorry for the disappearing act...we went on holidays, and returned to a full non stop week of work. No time to create! :o( Anyway, I am back with this elegant card. The inspiration came from the wallpaper in the hallways at 2 separate apartment buildings I had to go to this weekend...funny it caught my eye both times! I wished I had a camera with me to snap a pic, but I didn't...you'll have to trust me that it was truly elegantly gorgeous!

Ingredients: (All SU! unless otherwise mentioned)
Basic Grey CS, Basic Black CS, Bashful Blue Craft Ink (I only used the craft as my Classic Pad was upstairs and I was too lazy to walk up and get it! ;o), Artistic Etchings Stamp Set, Black Ribbon from my crafty stash...I think it came on a BDay present I received.

WARNING....TOTALLY NOT Politically Correct....

This post needs an introduction prior to the photo. I am going to start by saying I am not a smoker, I don't have my tongue pierced, and in fact repeatedly DIScourage Big C (11) and L'il C (9) from ever participating in these things. HOWEVER...Big C came home from summer camp the other day so proud of his creation of THIS sock puppet.

I have to say, I think it is sooooooo cute! I REALIZE it's not PC of me, and yes, we had a discussion about the problems caused by smoking, but I was really impressed by his creativity and attention to detail to making this sock puppet! Way to go Big C!

PDCC#37, OCCC, SFYTT

Here is the next creation I promised you all yesterday. I've been saving this burlap from the wedding we went to in May (the bonbonierre's were little trees wrapped in this burlap...sooooo cute!), and I am pleased to be able to finally use it. I am thinking I am going to give this (blank) to the newlyweds...they can probably find a good use for it! Is it also ok to tell you all that I adore this card??? My brain really started working when I sat down, and was pushed by all 3 amazing blogs which inspired it! The LO was inspired by Jen, at I Heart to Stamp . The colors were Inspired by The Play Date Cafe (a new FAVE site of mine!!!). And finally Our Creative Corner Challenge inspired the use of the cork (or, admittedly, in my case the Crumb Cake CS as the cork I have is way to think to manipulate for a card) Whew! Thanks all you incredible sites...loving the challenges you are sending our way!!!

Ingredients: (All SU! unless otherwise mentioned)
Very Vanilla CS, Certainly Celery CS, Classic Ink and Grosgrain Ribbon, Pretty In Pink Classic Ink, Bashful Blue Classic Ink, Crumb Cake CS, Apple Blossoms Stamp Set, Itty Bitty Bits Punch, Pearls from my crafty stash, Burlap from E & C's wedding! ;o)

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #31

Well, the first week of no school is over, and I must say it was lovely! We were up at the beach for a few days, caught a couple movies, kidlets were at camp for 3 days (while I worked), hung out with friends, and all in all, had a great time! The only "downfall" (if I can call it that) is I didn't create too much (although I should say, I did get my sample and shoebox supplies cut for Stamp 4 Fun, coming up this weekend!). However, a terribly sick Great Dane (you DON'T want to know.... ;P ) put me down in the studio all day, so I could watch him, and let him out asap. The result? 2 entries for 4 challenges (come back again tomorrow), and a still clean house....ugh.

Anyway, onto my entry to Keesh's Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #31 I altered the dimensions to suit my needs, but knowing sweet Keesh, it won't eliminate me from the entry! I encourage you all to head on over to her site, and enter a project of your own, such a fun, fun place to play! These "topper's" were made for Big C's baseball coaches. Their last game is this Tuesday, and we wanted to give them a little something in appreciation for all their hard work, dedication, and instruction. Where would we all be without volunteer's??? Thanks again, coaches!

Ingredients: (All SU!)
Brilliant Blue CS and Classic Ink (retired), More Mustard (it looks Pumpkin Pie here, but it's not, it matches the dark yellow in the flower perfectly!) CS and Classic Ink, Real Red CS and Classic Ink, Whisper White CS , Craft Ink, and Detail White EP, Just Baseball Stamp Set, Scallop Square Punch.

Woohoo! It's the end of school!

Happy "Last Day of School" to all you out there! (I know there are a lot of you who have had kids out of school for a while now, depending on where you live...and I'm a little envious!) I sometimes feel like an anomaly, but I must admit, I LOVE this time of year! Long lazy days, bike riding, dog walking, creating, playing, and just general good times all around. Granted, my posts may decrease in frequency, but hey...it's just for 2 months!

This card and tin were made as thank you gifts for all of the kids teachers. The tin holds Hershey Nuggets that are wrapped in a coordinating stamped pattern, and a Tim's gift card. I tied all the bows before photographing them, so you will have to use your imagination for that part! ;o) New CS and inks were used here, and the Cherry Cobbler is probably going to emerge as a new fave for me...look how rich and crisp and vibrant it is...LOVE it!

Ingredients: (All SU! unless otherwise noted)
Apple Blossoms stamp set (NEW Level 2 Hostess gift...to earn yours FREE contact me to have your very own workshop!), Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, Crumb Cake CS and Classic Ink (NEW, or should I say revised color being released July 1. It was called Kraft, but they have added an ink which we could not get before, and changed the name), Cherry Cobbler CS and Classic Ink (NEW color, being released July 1), Close to Cocoa CS and Classic Ink (RETIRING July 1), Real Red 5/8" Polka Dot Ribbon (RETIRING July 1) I should also mention the idea for the LO was adapted from a 3x3 card in the Stampin' Success! Magazine, I think maybe the May issue???

Friday Night Stampin' Palooza Card (1)

Wow, I am on a roll with the postings! LOL! Here is a card that was made on the Fri pm at Stampinpalooza. I didn't attend the Fri pm, but boy to I plan to for the next event! I hear it was a fantastic eve, with a really inspiring business talk by Ronda Wade. This card was made by my upline, Donna, and gives us an idea of another use for the Watercolor Trio Stamp Set. Hope you enjoy!
