OCCC-Sketch Challenge

Morning all!

Here is my entry for the OCC Sketch Challenge (link here for the deets and other entries ) It is loosely based on a sample from the SU! catalogue pg 29. I loved how clean and simple that card was, so decided to adapt to the OCC (flipped on my behalf!) layout.

Ingredients: (all from SU! unless otherwise noted)

Kraft CS, Soft Suede CS and Stampin' Write, Polka Dot Background Stamp, Creative Memories Corner Rounder, 1 1/2" Marvy Circle Punch

SPCC #12

Good Morning Ladies!

I am back from holidays, and my mini posting break, and ready to hit the crafting road running! Although life is never NOT hectic, I think this week will settle us into the "regular hectic" lifestyle we can cope with. So...keep peeking back for lots of posts with week. I have a list of fantastic challenges I want to get to this week. So without further babbling....

This card was made for the SPCC challenge (click here to link to the swatch and the other fantastic entries ) The entries are due today, so I am really cutting it close, but y'all, if you haven't checked out this site, I really encourage you to! It's a "fairly" new site (this is challenge 12, so 3 months old now I suppose....Happy Anniversary Samantha! ;o) and Samantha, all the SP Diva's, and all the other participants are so sweet and supportive that it one challenge that totally makes it worthwhile. Go on gals...check it out!

Before I write all the necessities out, I should say, I made a card very similar, not too long ago ( ) but had so many requests from friends for similar cards that I couldn't help but use this great color combo to do another! The template comes from Andrea's Sunny Stampin' Inc. (click here to get your own template ) and is really easy to use. Enjoy!

Ingredients: (all SU! unless otherwise noted)
Only Orange CS and Classic Ink, Melon Mambo CS and Stampin' Write, Bermuda Bay 5/8" Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon and Stampin' Write, Bird on a Branch Stamp Set, Prima Flowers "Trini Bright", Pearls from Forever in Time.

Thanks for bearing with me girls, I am back to update this post with all the "must have info"! Life has been a whirlwind around here lately, so excuse the lack of posts please! I need to "get through" this weekend, then I am off for a week. A week of beach. A week of reading. A week of bonfires. A week of pure, unadulterated bliss. Then, I will be back in full force with the posts, I promise!

Big C and Little C have been off to skateboarding camp this week. They did a week in July, and now a week in August, and they LOVE it. I bought these stamp sets with the camp in mind, and have finally (last night), combined Samantha's SPCC color challenge and Jen delMuro's sketch from the I {heart} to Stamp site. Links listed below.

Color Combo

Green Galore Classic and Craft Ink, Whisper White CS, Soft Suede CS, 5/8" grosgrain polka dot ribbon and Stampin' Write, Glassy Glaze, 1 1/2" Marvy Circle Punch and Heat Tool, Kaleidoscope EP (unknown source), Versa Mark, Creative Memories Corner Rounder, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Extreme Skateboard Stamp Set, Extreme Elements Stamp Set, Just Jawing Stamp Set.

There's a new challenge in (my) town! Well, maybe not really "my" town....maybe the city 30 minutes away, but none the less, here it is! Julie has designed the Easy Breezy Kewl Color Challenges for us to play with! (click here for the link ) I loved the colors this week, but unfortunately I was a day late to enter her challenge. Anyway, I'll be back to check it out, and hopefully can hit the deadline! Life seems to be getting in my creative way this past week.
Anywho...I've been told I'll have a new niece by Sunday, if not earlier. Her mom is an expert gardener, and I knew she needed something beyond "typical baby", so here's the card. I hope it's one they'll treasure! The template for the pot came from Andrea Walford's site "Sunny Stampin Inc.", click here to get your own template
Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):
Chocolate Chip CS and Classic Ink, Real Red Classic Ink, Very Vanilla CS, Sweet Little Sentiments Stamp Set, Flowers by Prima in colors that I tried to replicate Summer Sun, Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise, Buttons and Pearls from Forever in Time, Twine from unknown source.

Hi Girls!

Here's another card for two challenges, Samantha's SPCC #10 (colors Pumpkin Pie, Pale Plum and Crushed Curry) link here for the deets and other gorgeous creations , and the Our Creative Corner Challenge. (click here for all the other fantastic interpretations )This one was a bit trickier for me, as it was soooooo open ended. The theme was the following sentence "In rural communities, it’s almost time for harvest." After some thought, I could see an autumn sunset, and the rest of the card went from there. And lucky me, Samantha's fabby colors were the perfect ones for this!

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):

Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink, Pale Plum Classic Ink and CS, Crushed Curry Classic Ink, CS and 5/8" polka dot ribbon, Aqua Painter, Versa Mark ink, Detail Black EP, Heat Tool, Twine from unknown source, water spritzer, glue dots and pop dots from Dollarama.

Inkspirations Color Challenge #11, and SFYTT

Thank U!

This card was made for two challenges. Both of these uber talented ladies deserve a big fat THANK U for all the hard work they put into designing challenges for us week after week. They are so inspiring, it was fun to mash them together into one card! ;o) The colors (Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, and Very Vanilla) were put together by Makeesha Byl, at Inkspirations by Makeesha (click here for the swatch and all the other entries ), and the card layout was based on the sketch Jen delMuro designed at "I {Heart} to Stamp" (click here for the sketch and other entries )

Ingredients: (all SU! unless otherwise noted)
Bashful Blue CS and Classic Ink, Certainly Celery (buttons and chipboard from Forever in Time), Pumpkin Pie Ghostly Greetings DSP, Very Vanilla CS and textured CS, Thank You stamp (I only stamped the "Thank" part is from SU! but it lost its home and I don't know which set it originally comes from, pearls from Forever in Time, Pop Dots and Glue Dots.

Inkspirations Inspiration #8

Happy muggy Monday morning! Here's another post imported directly from my old flikr account:

ETA: OH MY GOODNESS!!! Check this out

The inspiration for this challenge comes from Makeesha Byl's site, check out this link for the details
The minute I saw her photo, I had in my mind what I wanted to do. Sadly, I didn't own the stamp set I wanted to use (Wonderful You by SU!). I wracked my brain, came up with other ideas, and proceeded to NOT make the card ;O) I went to a Retirement Party for SU! products, and voila! The stamp set I wanted was there begging to be purchased!
Have any of you tried the stamping with bleach technique? The instructions are in the current (soon to be retiring) SU! catalogue. It was my first try, and I must admit, I really like how the whole card turned out.

Ingredients (all SU!):
Kraft CS, Certainly Celery CS, twill ribbon, Classic Ink, Whisper White CS, Wonderful You Stamp Set, Versa Mark Ink, Bleach.

Hi all,

I've got a terribly busy weekend happening, and week ahead, so I will be posting some old Flikr posts, with a few new posts mixed in. I've just started my blog in July '09, prior to that had been using Flikr exclusively to enter challenges. I've been wanting to bring old posts over, but don't know a way to do it easily (if anyone can tell me...please reply! I'd love to learn how) so am thinking when I don't have something to post this may be the way to do post at a time! goes onto the direct wording from Flikr now, hope you are all having a great weekend!

Here is my entry for the SPCC #1 (completed late, so not on the blog). The deets and other entries can be seen here

Ingredients (All SU! unless otherwise noted):

So Saffron CS, 5/8" ribbon, Brilliant Blue CS, Classic Ink stamped off 2x, Chocolate Chip CS, Classic Ink, Old Olive Classic Ink stamped off 2x, scallop punch, Eat Cake Stamp Set, Tea Party DSP, Glassy Glaze, pop dots, glue dots, tape, Versa Marker, Chocolate Ribbon from Michaels, Twine from unknown source, HBD letters cut from Making Memories Slice Cartridge, Happy Birthday glass bead from Mixed Messages, Buttons from Forever in Time.

My neighbor, Pam

Hey Peeps!

So many of my daily conversations start with "My neighbor, Pam....." so really, it only seems right to start this post out like that. I am sooooooo blessed to have her and her husband for neighbors. They are so kind, supportive, generous, funny, and loving that the kids and I both know we have won the neighbor jackpot! Well. Except for the time we took Pam camping, and tried to convince her she was enjoying it. A bout of near death stomach flu, and one verrry long car ride home, and for a few moments BOTH kids would have traded her in for the neighbor with the 12 foot fence, 10 rusted cars on his front lawn, and a "NO KIDS ALLOWED" sign duct taped to the rotten old apple tree on the boulevard. ;o) neighbor, Pam, needed a wedding card for a friend, so she came over and created this masterpiece! It started out much differently in our heads than it ended up. I wanted her to do a monotone card so she could enter it into the Finally Friday challenge (click here to see the deets and enter your own project ), and had seen a beautiful card (sorry, I wish I remember where so I could link to it) embellished with punched flowers in a heart shape. Well, my flower punch decided to not work, my Slice decided to not work, and I was getting frustrated! Pam whips out the SU! Heart Punch, and starts working away. She popped up a square on the card, then taped a single layer of hearts down, then the next layer popped up. Add some bling, and a ribbon, and Voila! An absolutely gorgeous card she can be proud to give away!

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):

Very Vanilla CS and 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Heart Punch, tape and pop dots from Dollarama, gems from Michaels.

A friend of mine is a "frugal" stamper (self named! honest!), she often shares tips on how to make your crafty dollar spread farther. Which, heck, you've gotta love! (check out her site to pick up your own tips ) Anyway, when making this card I had myself a little chuckle. The only "new" item on this card is my card base, the rest is all scraps from last years "I Wish" Simply Scrappin Kit which I had left over from a class I took through my frugal friend. I even made the leaves by trimming the overprinted area on the sticker backing, as I'd used the real leaves on a project last year!

OOOH! And don't forget to come back Friday to read my exciting news!!! I am BURSTING at the seams!!!

Anywhooo...onto the post! This card was made for the sketch challenge at Amy Rysavy's site, "Prairie Paper and Ink". Click here for the sketch and all the other fabby entries!

Ingredients (All SU! unless otherwise noted):

I Wish Simply Scrappin Kit (Retired), Old Olive Textured CS, Chocolate Chip Textured CS and plain CS, Real Red Textured CS, Whisper White Textured CS, DSP and Stickers from same kit.

MOJO 98, SPCC #9, and well, a little hint...

I have a good friend who moved from my street to a few streets over 2 years ago, and though it didn't make it impossible to see her anymore, our visits certainly declined. I missed her, and the kids surely missed each other. Well, she's back! They have just built a house closer than their original one on our street, and the move in date was two days ago. I didn't stamp the "Hello Baby" part to the sentiment, but did find the "{welcome home}" perfect for them...they are "home" now! So welcome back old friends, glad to have you so close again!
