Inkspirations Challenge #91

OMGoodness, I luuuuuurve this card! It turned out 98% differently than I originally planned, but 100% better than it was in my minds eye! Does that ever happen to guys? After distressing and adhering my DSP I decided it was too bland. So I ran it through my Big Shot with the Spider Web Embossing Folder, still bland-ish, so I rubbed my VersaMark on it and embossed it with the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Better, but suddenly? Suddenly I realized the sweet little pumpkins I planned to use as my image, didn't really fit. Hmm. Second look at Keesh's amazing Sketch and I saw it....SPIDER!!!! Those legs make my heart beat faster, and they're so simple to make. They are punched 4 times (thin slices) with the long edge of the Decorative Label Punch, and cut in half. Thanks Keesh for the fabby sketch at the Inkspirations Site which inspired this card!!!

Ingredients: (All SU! unless otherwise mentioned)
Basic Black CS, Retired Halloween DSP, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Iridescent Ice EP, VersaMark, Decorative Label Extra Large Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Googly eyes and sparkly black paper from my crafty stash.

Artful*Inkers October Card Swaps, part 2

As promised, here are the final four card fronts swapped at my Artful*Inkers team meeting at the beginning of the month. Our swap theme this month was Halloween or Thanksgiving. I'm loving all of these cards!!!!

Created by Samantha, LOVE her use of the negative space for the moon!

Created by Joanna, her debossed spider web and fancy double punched "spooky" tag rock!

This prezzie was created by Donna....is it ok to admit I ate all the M+M's before 10am today? Thanks Donna, loved your tag, the watercoloring AND the treats!

Created by Kim. I adore the strip of crimped Early Espresso at the bottom, and her altered Decorative Label Punch.

Thanks for peeking everyone, can't wait to share Novembers swaps as well!

Artful*Inkers October Card Swaps, part 1

Morning everyone! On Wednesday I showed my card for this months Artful*Inkers team swap (the theme was Halloween or Thanksgiving), and today I will show you 5 of my team mates cards. Come back Sunday to see the remaining 4! They are all SO fantabby!!!

Created by Diane. That Frightful Sight DSP is totally fun, and I love the choice of the "EEEK!" sentiment to go along with it!

Created by Sandra. I'm loving her color choice, and the gorgeous, warm Spice Cake DSP is making me want to cuddle up in front of a fire with a hot drink!

Created by Kirsha. So clever to use the punched out portion as a frame! Don't know why I haven't tried that before!!! Thanks Kirsha for opening my eyes!

Created by Dusty. I'm going to share her instructions for the candy corn...so simple, but another thing I hadn't thought of before! "For candy corn, I layered pieces of Very Vanilla and Daffodil Delight on 1 3/4" circle of mustard, then cut in half, then each piece in half again, making 8 pieces of corn out of each circle"

Created by Julie. I LOVE this stamp set, and love that she used the words and the postage label as I haven't inked those stamps up yet...I'm too focused on the gorgeous leaves! I'm determined to create with those stamps soon!

Thanks for peeking! Be sure to come back Sunday to see the rest!

Getting Started Saying Thanks!

Hey friends! We had a really interesting challenge last month for my Artful Inkers team card swap. We were to take only one stamp set (which was later broadened to 2 to include a sentiment if needed), the colors from the Getting Started Collection in both card stock and classic ink, and create a card with only those items. No punches, no big shot, no bling, no nuthin'! Our goal was to come up with cards that anyone could create with just the Getting started Smooth Card Stock pack ($8.50, 2 sheets each of 8 1/2x11 Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Early Espresso and Basic Black as seen on pg 174 of the current Idea Book and Catalogue, #120954), and the Getting Started Classic Stampin' Spots ($26.95 for 1 ink spot, sized approx 1x1" in the following 11 colors Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Early Espresso and Basic Black as seen on pg 174 of the current Idea Book and Catalogue, #119979) and their choice of stamp set. This was my swap, and I did stick to a sentiment only set (Thank You Kindly, $16.95, pg 168 of the current Idea Book and Catalogue, #111700) which is one of my most used sets! Hope you enjoy and come back tomorrow and the next day, and I'll post 5 of my team members ideas per day, so you can see all the wonderful ideas YOU can make with these basic ingredients!

(and...as always, if you want to order any of these items, contact me to place your order! :o)

Ingredients: (All SU!)
CS: Real Red, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight
Classic Inks: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
