Spring Blossoms

I don't know about where you live, but our weather is glorious here! We've had record breaking highs, we spent all of March break in shorts and t's and the crocuses are out in bloom! I don't remember a March this beautiful EVER! It was time to bring some spring into the house, and I knew just the way to do it. I upcycled my twigs from my Christmas planters, used my new Island Florals Bigz Die, some pretty DSP, and mini brads to adhere the flowers to the twigs. Easy peasy, and so cute! Ok, off for another beautiful walk with the doggies...happy sigh.... :o)

Using Negative Space

Good Morning! I hope you are all having a great day! I'm always in awe when I see people using their negative space in a creative and fun way. (Remember Samantha's card back here?) For some reason, I never think to explore that avenue of creativity. This card was CASE'd (and altered to suit my supplies) from Becky Roberts, and I absolutely adore it! My personal challenge over the next little while is to start seeing negative space as a positive, and see if I can add it into my work!

Ingredients: (All SU!)
Blossom Petals Punch, Fancy Flower Extra Large Punch, Jewelry Tag Medium Punch, Tiny Tags Stamp Set, Pool Party CS and Classic Ink, Very Vanilla CS, Lucky Limeade CS and 1/8" Organdy Ribbon from Sale-A-Bration, Everyday Enchantment DSP from Sale-A-Bration.

Imagine the Possibilities...

So I've been on holidays for a bit, and one of the challenges I set out for myself, was to take a color combo (Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Cajun Craze, and a neutral of Very Vanilla), a sentiment stamp set (Word Play), a Christmas Stamp Set (Delightful Decorations, and then I cheated and added a second set Tree Trimmings. I justified this with the thought that they are the same "type" of image :o), and a set that I didn't think of as being a typical one for the color combo I chose (I {Heart} Hearts) and see what I could come up with! I also took a bevy of accessories and punches along, so here goes! Oh, and I took a copy of July/Aug PaperCrafts Mag, and the following ideas are all adapted from other companies, to Stampin' Up! products. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients: (All SU! unless otherwise mentioned)
Crumb Cake CS, Gardern Green CS, and Classic Ink, Cajun Craze CS, and Classic Ink, Word Play Stamp Set, Fancy Flower Punch, Blossom Petals Builder, (retired) vanilla Button, Linen Thread, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, (retired) corner rounder punch, Green Background shape and textured embossing folder from alternate sources. OMGosh! Have you guys seen these?!?

They are little ring pop popsicle makers! I LOVE them!!! I saw them in a magazine a while back, wished I knew where you could buy them, but never followed up, as I figured they would be astronomically priced. Well. Wasn't I walking through our local dollar store the other day, and what do you know? Sets of 6 for $2!!! Yippee! Several sets came home with me for personal use, but also gift giving. The set below was re-packaged to give to my nieces. The label was made on MDS, and the "Pretty Pink Princess Pops" title was made especially for them! They loooove anything with the words "pretty pink princess" preceding it! LOL!

Ingredients: (All SU!)
MDS, Whisper White CS, Pretty in Pink CS, Melon Mambo CS and Classic Ink, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Fancy Flower Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, retired Certainly Celery ribbon.

Artful*Inkers Design Team, All things "booklike"

Hey there friends! Here is another journal I made for myself, and luckily it fits into this weeks Artful*Inkers Design Team requirements! LOL! Can you tell I loooove this DP? Seems all of my personal things are being covered in it!!! Can anyone guess where the inspiration for the flower came from? I still have an unopened package of the Stitched Felt Sweet Pea Embellies in my cupboard that I really wanted to use, but since this note pad is one I carry everywhere, I didn't want to risk having it rip off and ruin my book. So voila! SU! CS, punches and a white gel pen to the rescue, and I can have my flower without detriment to my book.

Ingredients: (All SU!)
Botanical Gazette DSP, Pretty in Pink CS and Classic Ink, Old Olive CS and Classic Ink, Early Espresso CS, White Gel Pen, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, 1" Circle Medium Punch, Fancy Flower Extra Large Punch, Heart to Heart Extra Large Punch, Slot Punch...which I don't see in the catty anywhere...did it retire???

A little tip...the leaves are from the Heart to Heart Punch, but one "bump" is trimmed with my snips to be uneven giving it more of a leaf look than a heart look.

Be sure to check out my team mates work, they are each featuring a different Suite from the current Occasions Mini, and the theme this week is "All things booklike"!
Jessica, shows off the Hugs and Kisses Suite
Janessa, shows off the Springtime Vintage Suite
Dion, shows off the Bring on the Cake Suite
Michelle, shows off the Oh Sew Suite

Come on Back February 15th for the Design Team post of 3D items, and them coming in March, it's everything else that didn't fit into a category!
